                        Have you ever been at a party and you didn't know anyone? Well, that was the whip this morning. What would you do if you were there? I would just wait until someone else said something to me. Then after that long meeting this morning, I start on my module 4 test. I spent so much time on that test, perfecting all my answers and word problems. Then before I finished that we went down to brain break and played lob tag and shark and fish. I came back up from the green and submitted my module exam.  I made an 89 or 90%(I cannot remember!) Middle meet up together and worked on the finishing touches on out wiki for the presentation tomorrow. Lunch and Kickball came next. We won (of course)!! After that middle school finished up the wiki and worked on presenting. I hate presenting in front of everyone so I need A LOT of work!!! HELP! Once I got back to my computer I worked on this finally facts to my project and am about to go clean so that we have a lot of time for afternoon meeting. Maybe even more that 1 whip and more funny videos!!!

         This morning was that morning were you were wondering if you had studied enough, read the sentence twice, and dotted every i. It was the morning of my LAST MATH SEGMENT I ORAL! Once I had studied for that I called my teacher and made a 24/25 on it! Then after that I took my module 4 math advanced test and got a 100%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so happy!!
           It was brain break and we stayed inside and played heads up seven up! Then I helped Davis on his PBL and me and him are now the only ones done with our group PBL Wiki! It was lunch and kickball. It had poured in Rosemary and when we played kickball, we all fell and slid around! It was so much fun! Then came back and we did music. In music, we practiced all of our songs and Ice Ice Baby, we are getting sooooo good at that song! So Much fun!

        This morning I came in and the little kids had some projects to present. When they were done presenting, Mira and Leah presented their Civil War project. Then I started working on my math. I was learning about slope. It was sooo hard. But I had Connor and Mira to help me understand it better, and I understood it more. I mad a 100% on the quiz. Then we went to brain break and played a ball game. We came back up and I made a youtube account so that I could add my explosion videos. (they are at the end of the blog). Then we played kickball and ate lunch. Started on my 4.04 math lesson and am about to go to music. In music we are going to run through the songs we have finished and then we are going to work on "Ice Ice Baby!". Clean up at the end of the day!!

                            I am about to go see unstoppable today!
      This morning we came to Panera for school, OH is always on the move, Lovin It! Have been doing FLVS all day. But today was a new day and we went to Panera Bread for school today. We ate breakfast and lunch. And worked on FLVS all day. But in between all the chaos I went to borders to buy my book for language arts, "Tangerine". I will start that when I get home tonight. I took my math module 3 advanced test and made a 22/25 89% on it. I Am so pumped!! Then worked on segment 2 for language arts.  Had a great day! Are you? MATH ORAL DAY!!

 
             Today was the day for the big math oral!! I spend all of the morning taking pre and practice tests. We went out side for brain break and it was not to cold but everyone was like freezing so we could only play 1 game. When I cam in I talked to Randy about not doing PBL today to study for my oral and module test. I just needed to add o few things on the wiki and that was it. Then we went to lunch and played kickball at the green. Then when I came back up to school it was time for my math oral. SHe asked me so many questions. But I still got a 100% (25/25 A) Then it was time for music, we worked on "Ice Ice Baby"! It is so much fun. 


        Well, tomorrow we have to go to Panera Bread to work and at lunch we are going to see movies!! It's going to be a great day. But, anyway, we have to go there because these people are coming up and are using the school as a meeting area. 


         Since that is going on, we had to do a big clean. I pretty much cleaned the whole middle school side and if I may say so, I looks amazing!!!

                            So when I came in this morning we had 2 whips. The first was what was something you have gotten in trouble for and the second was what was the kindest thing someone has done for you. Then I got working on my MVE for math. Then we went to brain break and played jail break. Then I came back up and decided to, for my PBL, learn how to read HTML. I am going to make a working website. Then we went to lunch and played kickball. Then after that I worked on my civil war PBL. I needed to get one more math done and I made a 20/20 on it. Then I cleaned and and blogging.

            So, today was our first day back from Thanksgiving break. I came in this morning and we whipped about what was one thing you did over Thanksgiving break? I said making a chocolate pumpkin pie. After we did our whip, I started on my Segment 1 exam for language arts. I made a 91/100 an A. I was very happy. Then the middle school went to the couch with Mr Tim and Mr Randy and talked about our interests that we would like to do as a project with no standards. In my earlier posts you will see what I did during my PBL block. After that I went to lunch at SK. We played kickball on the green until like 1:15. Then I came back up to school and looked for experts for my slave and history projects. Then we went to music and went through all of are songs. Clean-up and Blog.

      This morning I came in and started working on Language Arts. I worked on more poems. We played the same game today as we did yesterday. 
I came back up and worked on PBL. I had to find an expert on slavery after like forever. Then I went to lunch and we played kickball. After lunch, i worked on math, solving 2 step equations with fractions. I got 18/20. Then we went to music and practiced all the songs we have learned. We cleaned and are about to do our end of the day meeting.






        It was a short day at OH!

                 This morning I came into school and started to work on Language Arts. I started on this picture poem and then I turned it in. Math came next and I learned how to work backwards for addition and subtraction, but i already knew how to do it. The we went to brain break and played that game we played yesterday. Then I came back up and started to hand write my Jesbell Smith diary on my aged burned paper. I finished my diary and am moving on to my next diary for a new character. Then I went to lunch and tennis. Came back and worked on Spanish and I am now leaving school. It was a very productive day for me!!

 Sept. 12, 1862

        
My  teacher, Mr. Hank, gave me this diary. Mr Hank has been teaching me to read and write for about 3 months now. He has been teaching me late at night when my master is asleep and the sky is black as my skin. He thought that it would be a good time for me to have one of these books.

      Today, my master, Master Charles, gave Mrs. Jane a beating. She forgot to put the cotton in the right basket and he whipped her on her back. She went straight back to work with tears coming down her eyes. I went back to my work, picking cotton with my naked hands. I was told to go to the far fields to get the “better cotton” I had to carry a 50 lbs. of cotton back to my cabin to weave. My hands were covered in blood.


 Sept. 22, 1862

   Late last night, I heard Mr Hank talking to my mother. He said, “I am trying to get my buddy, John, to lend me a few of his boats.”, my mother asked,”Why, what for?”. He replied, “I am trying to get you, Jesabell, and your son out of this terrible place.” “I am planning an escape for slaves!!” he said.

   I woke up this morning happy and worried. I was happy with what Mr Hank was talking to mother about. I was worried, because today, could be the day that Master Charles finds out about Mr Hank and his plan. I went to go pick cotton, but Master Charles came around and said, “Where do you think your going?”. “Sir, I am going to pick cotton in the far fields.” He told me” Go clean, groom, feed, and brand my horses, from now on.” “Yes, sir.’’, I replied.


    I went over to the horse stables. When I first got their I noticed that Tommie, Mrs Jane’s son, was also working there. I started to clean a horse when Tommie walked up and said, “Hi.”, I said “Hey, why are you over here working here?” He looked down and did not answer me. I guessed that he had been beaten for what his mother did. So, I went back to my work, cleaning to best horse I had ever seen.

When I had finished cleaning up for the night at the stables, Tommie walked me back to my cabin, since his was right next door. I went to my mother and told her all about my new day. She was happy that I was in the cool air and not out in the cotton fields all day. My mother works in the kitchen in Master Charles house. She said it is a happy place, she is with her friends.

I went to bed thinking and wondering what would happen if Master Charles ever found out  about Mr Hank’s plans. Mr Hank was a brave and strong man, I said to myself. He know’s what he’s doing, right?



Sept. 24, 1862


  Today was my 3rd day working with the horses. I was grooming one of the horses, when I cut her tail hair short! I didn’t mean to at all! I was so scared, I saw Master Charles coming over! I felt like crying but instead I turned the horse around and started brushing her head. He walked around the horse. He started on the front of her body, he never said a thing, he went to the back and saw the tail. He look at Tommie, then to me. He turned toward me and said, “What have you done!”, I replied, “ I did not mean too, I really didn’t. I just went to cut her tail hair and my hand slipped.

        The next thing I knew I was being whipped with the leather whip! I was trying to hold in my screaming and crying but I just could not, I started to cry. I was on the ground and he was still whipping me. I thought he would never stop, never. He told Tommie to get me up off the ground. He told me if that ever happened again he would whip me.................


When I told and showed my mother she burst into tears. I felt like I had let her down. I felt that I would never get out of this terrible place. My mother called to my brother, “You go get the oil from the floor over their.” He went to get it. She put it on my back and it hurt, I winced and cried. I felt terrible! I am a failure, I said to myself that night when I was crying. I did not sleep at all that night, I was in so much pain.


Dec. 2, 1862

  It has been a week and a day since Master Charles whipped me. My back looks like it had just happened this morning. I have not been able to sleep, I have been in so much pain. I have been thinking to much about mother, Mr Hank, and that terrible Master Charles.

I have been going to the stables everyday, and watching my hands. Today, I had to take care of the master’s horse, Champ. Champ is a long legged, strong, and very tall. Master Charles wife, Amber, came out wearing her long, gold, and big dress. Mrs Amber is a very nice lady, nothing like her husband. She watched me carefully. They also have a 12 year old daughter named, Matilda.

I really don’t know what Matilda is like. I have only seen her when her teacher comes, because they work outside on the porch.

     Anyway, I cleaned that horse so well there was nothing, nothing cleaner than that horse a mile ahead. That night my mother and Mr Hank, were talking again. Mother told Mr Hank, what had happened to me. He was very surprised and sad. Mother called for me to come see Mr Hank. She lifted up my shirt and showed him. He took a cloth and put a little bit of what on it. It stung but it kinda felt better in a way. I went to bed and let mother and Mr Hank talk.

                 This morning I came into school and we did a whip about, who would we call and talk for 3 seconds, and then hang up the phone? I did not answer, because I did not think of anyone. Then we made our google school calendars and I finished everything for today. Then I worked on my Poem Chart and turned that in. Finished my Math test that did not turn in for some reason last week, and started another spanish assignment. We went out for brain break and it was middle schools turn to pick what game to play. We decided on statue. Statue, is when you stand still, and when the person in the middle turns around, you move and if he gets you you are out. Statue is a fun game! Then we came back up stairs and Randy talked to us about our PBL. I finished my diary on Jesabell Smith, she is my slave i am writing about. Hannah and I went out to find matches, to burn our aged paper we made earlier last week. When we found then it was really windy and the matched would blow out very, very fast. So we got 2 done by the time it was lunch. 6 more to go. I ate lunch at Summer Kitchen, and then we played kickball. Hannah and I went back out and worked on the burning of the paper and we finished. When I came back up to OH, I put 2 punches in my paper and put old string in the wholes. It looks really really cool!! I am very happy that I am almost finished.  Then we went to music, but we really just talked about songs that we might want to do for the future. Then we came back and clean and are about to do our end of the day meeting.

              So, today we came in and we did a whip, the question was," If you could live anywhere, where would you live?" I said Italy or Cooks Island. Then I went to my desk and worked on my Math 3.06. I finished that and I got a 18/20. Then we went to brain break and played one legged bacon and circle game. We came back up and worked on our PBL. Yesterday, Hannah and I made aged paper out of black tea for our American History project. Tomorrow I hope to burn the sides with a liter. We started on our character facts and such. I am doing 3 characters, Jesabell Smith, a 12 year old slave, William Henderson, a 18 year old soldier in the Civil War, and last but not at all the least, Megan Miller, she is a mom of 5 kids and a wife in the Western Expansion. We went to lunch and had our normal tennis lesson except that Jonathan is out of town. We talked about Costa Rica for like 5 minutes after tennis. Then I started on my Spanish lesson, 4.05, it is soooo long. I never got to finish it but, I am taking the test tomorrow. CLEAN-UP EVERYONE!!!! Then we had check out meeting. I am going to tennis team!

                 Today was an okay day. I started out with doing a math and a spanish lesson. After that we went out to play brain break and we did tongue and glob tag. We came back and worked on our PBL. We had to pick 3 characters and conflicts. I am doing Jesabell, William, and Megan. I will tell you more when I get more. We went to lunch and played kickball. Hannah and I went to the coffee shop and got black tea and made aged paper. After that we went to music and practiced our song. That was my day, short and fun!

               Today was a short day to me. I came into school and did an Math lesson and got a 100% on the test. We went to brain break and did races. After that we came back up and I took another math test. We worked on our PBL, it is a secret for now what we are doing. Then we went to lunch and I ate at Cowgirl and the prettiest puppy was there and I am so close to getting it we are going to see it!! Then we came back up and I worked on more math! I did another math math full day!! Then we went to music and did our new song 3 little birds! Going to do my check out!

                    Today was a good day at OH. I came in and we went around and the question was what was your favorite birthday. I said maybe this year because I had a party. We decided to do music in the morning today and we are doing Three Little Birds, by Bob Marley. Then I went over to the middle school side and worked on Math. We did heads up 6 up for brain break today because it was raining outside.  We needed to work on PBL and we are starting our new four week thing. Then I came back up and finally finished my math lesson. We eat lunch and then played kickball in the rain. It was so funny but everyone was yelling at each other. Mr Randy and Mrs Amy left school at lunch so Mrs. Paige came up to watch us for the rest of the day. I had to help Olivia with her printer and I fixed the white printer finally. After I finished that I worked on more math, it was a math day. After that we cleaned and went home.

                     So, this morning I came into school and took my spanish module 3 test. I made a 91/100 an okay grade. Then I started module 4 and took 4.01 test and got a 30/30. At brain break we played bacon plus a stand still game, I think that was what it was called. I worked on my language arts module 3 test and got a 94/100 an good grade. Then I started another spanish 4.02 test and got 100% on it. For lunch I had P.F. Changes leftovers. It was so good. I went to tennis with the school, I was with Jonathan today. It was a slower tennis class today but I cannot wait to go after school.( It all worked out.) Then I worked on MORE FLVS!!!! I was the "head" of cleaning today so I did not have to do much. I am going to end of the day meeting.

                         So today is my mom's birthday!! I woke up super early to make breakfast!! When I came into school we had the meeting did not take long we did not talk to much. Amy told the middle school to stay at the couch and we started this new PBL thing. We had to highlight some standards that we thought go along with the word conflict. After we did that Mason, Mitchell, Davis, and I became a team(Because Hannah was not at school yet). Then we went to brain break and we played duck, duck goose and heads up 5 up. I came back up to the room and worked on the easiest math lesson of all times!!! I got a 100% on the test. We went to lunch, Hunter bought Jordin and I a lunch because we did not have one. THANKS HUNTER AND HANNAH!! After that we played kickball, it was not that fun. Again we came back up to school and I worked on some language arts and I am going to take my module test tonight or tomorrow. We are headed to music working on our Bob Marley song!!!!! Then clean-up!!

                     Today I came into school and we had a meeting about, um well i do not remember that well!(haha) So after we did that Amy and Randy called us over for a middle school meeting. We talked about how we are the OH middle school family. Once that was done Hannah and I started our module 2 math test. Then we went to brain break and we played zombie and tongue. When we came back I turned in my math test and I got a 88/100! Then I started my module 2 advanced test. I am not sure what I got on that my teacher has not yet graded it. We all ate lunch and then we played kickball. It was not that fun. Then we all had another meeting about the elevator. Some people in the school are calling the emergency call button in the elevator. After that I started my Spanish and the next thing I knew I was down stair playing an accordion! IT WAS SO MUCH FUN PLAYING IT!!! Then we had to come up and clean. It was a fun day!
