India and China Project:
I have decided to do India. I have always had an interest in India so this is a great way to learn about India.

I have a pen pal named Roshni. I sent her my first e-mail. The e-mail was just saying why I wanted to have a pen pal and my 3 questions.

My 3 questions for my Indian pen pal:
________________________________
1.)What are the 3 most common languages spoken in India.
2.)What form of government do you have?
3.)What is the number 1 issue India is facing, what do you think the number 1 issue is?

I think this will be a great experience for me.

Mayans

Mayan Project...

My three main points for my arguments are going to be:

1.)How the Mayans were great at architecture.

•I believe that the Mayan were amazing at architecture, because of the amazing and huge temples they created. I love looking at the details, it is just a work of art. http://library.thinkquest.org/10098/mayan.htm

2.)They underground x-ray were another thing I saw that may not have been the greatest thing to find some tombs of unknown ancient kings.

•I think that the underground x-rays are true, because when I watched the video they used it and found stuff. Plus this website: http://www.uit-systems.com/

3.)The human sacrifice was also something that was different for me. Mayan's thought that the human sacrifice was for the blood.

•I think that the mayans also wanted to show strength to the gods, that they are strong. This websites helped me figure out my side: http://ancienthistory.about.com/od/deathafterlife/qt/012709MayaScrfc.htm

My three arguments

My three main points for my arguments are going to be:

1.)How the trees are the main reason why the Mayan civilization disappeared. The trees are the main reason because they were the resources for building and food.

2.)They underground x-ray were another thing I saw that may not have been the greatest thing to find some tombs of unknown ancient kings.

3.)The human sacrifice was also something that was different for me. Mayan's thought that the human sacrifice for the blood.

Jamestown Reflection

Why was Jamestown a nightmare? The three main reasons Jamestown was a nightmare are;the Native Americans, no gold, mostly the starvation. I thought that these three were the main reasons is because that is what the video was mostly pointed on.

When the colonists came off of the boats the Native Americans found out that there were "new" people. The native americans did not like the fact that they are going to have to share their land. One day,  a few of the men were down by a river, the native americans weren't happy and shot one of the men(With a bow an arrow.). All of the colonists were now very worried about their protection. They decided to build a fort around their camp. Once they had built that, they felt a bit better knowing that their protection was better that just having an open camp. They were still very worried about what would the native americans do next, what do they have planned, when are they going to act again?

One of the main reasons that the colonists went to Jamestown was to find gold. Everyday men would go out to the river with the hot sun beaming down on their heavy clothing. Looking and looking for gold, but found nothing! They were going mad panning for gold. As they looked for the gold the natives were getting happy, they thought that since there was no gold they would leave. Soon, the natives realized that they were wrong.

Starvation was the number one concern for the colonists. No gold plus the natives, and now not much food! What were they going to do? They went to the head of the natives and made a deal. The deal was that John Smith, the captain, was to give them gems for food. They agreed , thanks to the head chiefs daughter, Pocahontas. She told her father that it would be foolish to not take the deal. And with that deal it save many of the colonists lives. Now that colonists did not have to worry to much about the natives because of their trades.

These are the three main reasons why I think Jamestown was a nightmare. I enjoy watching videos so this hit my spot. This was a fun mini lesson/project to work on this week. I would enjoy more of these mini lessons.
